With an investment of more than 80 million US dollars, DuPont will build a new special material production base in East China

On November 8, 2018, Shanghai – DuPont announced today that it will invest more than US$80 million to build a new manufacturing base in Zhangjiagang City, Jiangsu Province. The new base is designed to blend high-end engineering plastics and produce adhesives for customers in the transportation, electronics, industrial and consumer markets. The project is expected to be completed and put into operation in 2020 and will be expanded in 2023.

DuPont management and Zhangjiagang City Government leaders attended the first China International Import Expo held in Shanghai and signed the investment agreement.

The production site will be located in Jiangsu Yangzijiang International Chemical Industrial Park, supporting the growing market demand for specialized materials focused by DuPont Transportation and Advanced Materials. The new line produces DuPont Zytel nylon engineering plastics, Delrin homo-formaldehyde resins, Hytrel thermoplastic polyesters and Multibase thermoplastic elastomers (TPE), lubricants and specialty silicone materials. The base will also include a new production line for automotive adhesives, while planning to produce other specialty products in the future, will become the new DuPont's first cross-business manufacturing base in China.
